My hubby and I used to watch Shark Tank religiously. We loved the idea of the American Dream and entreprenuers sharing their vision with the world in hopes of a potentially life changing investment in their business. There have been some great products as a result of that show, and one of my favorites is The Home T.
The Home T began as a line of ultra comfy shirts that highlighted state pride. You can order a shirt with your state shape and the word “home.” written in the middle. Such a simple idea that wasn’t widely popular at the time, until it aired on Shark Tank.
No, the owner of The Home T did not end up with a deal on the show, but he did get amazing exposure for his company. I own the iconic Castle T, and I have given one away here on my blog in the past. Their designs have become so popular that you can find cheap knock offs on Etsy, but I would rather have the real thing.
Well, today I get a marketing email from them with a new Disney design, called “The Skyline.” Take a look and see if you can tell what is wrong with this design.
If you are a WDW fan, you’re going to notice right away that the Magic Kingdom is represented twice on this shirt, while Hollywood Studios is completely left out. It’s a beautiful shirt, but if they want to represent a “skyline” of WDW, then they really need to include something from Hollywood Studios so all four parks are represented.
I decided I would offer a suggestion by replying to the email. Normally, marketing emails do not accept replies or are monitored by live people, so imagine my surprise when I not only got a reply, but a new design!
There’s still a slight issue of the fact that this shirt now has 2 Magic Kingdom icons, but it’s still a beautiful shirt! It’s also the one they are currently selling on their website.
So, kudos to The Home T for actually monitoring replies to their marketing emails and listening to their buyers. I feel kinda awesome that I was able to help them out. Of course, there were probably about a thousand other people that also had similar replies, but I’d like to think it was just me. 🙂
As for Shark Tank…we don’t watch it as much as we used to. Now that our daughter is old enough to have a say in what is on the television, it pretty much sticks to Disney Junior. We might watch a bit of an old rerun if we see one playing, but we don’t go out of our way to watch, anymore. I’m not even 100% sure the show is still on. LOL!
