Yes, Disney World is a family vacation destination, but did you know that you can also have a date night without the children? Many people aren’t aware of some of the childcare options available during their stay at Disney World.
For children 3 and up, there are some drop off locations at select Disney resorts that offer either flat rate per night or hourly rates. These locations provide themed activities, meals, and some even have visits with characters! It’s important to note that all locations require children to be fully potty trained and prohibit the use of pull-up style diapers.
At a rate of $15/hour, guests 3-12 years old can enjoy arts and crafts, play with a variety of toys, including video and board games. The hourly price also includes dinner, which consists of a basic menu of items such as peanut butter & jelly, hamburger, cheeseburger, and chicken nuggets. You know, all the foods that kids love! Located at Animal Kingdom Lodge on the first floor near the pool.
The rate here is a flat fee of $55 for the hours of 4:30PM until midnight for children ages 3-12. Activities include science themed experiments, baking, and pirate imagination play. This location also includes character visits, although specific characters are not listed. From 6PM until 8PM, children can enjoy a buffet meal of kid approved foods. Located at the Polynesian resort near the snack isle.
Similar to Simba’s Clubhouse, the rate here is $15/hour for guests 3-12 years of age. Activities include arts & crafts, video games, board games, and Disney movies. Dinner is served between 6-8PM and includes a variety of kid approved foods. Located at the Wilderness Lodge.
Similar to Lilo’s Playhouse, this center is a flat rate of $55 per night for children ages 3-12 between the hours of 4:30PM and midnight. Activities include science themed experiments, baking, and pirate imagination play. A kid friendly dinner is served between 6-8PM. Located at Disney’s Beach Club resort.
Located at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, this center is priced at $10 per hour for children ages 4-12 between the hours of 5:30PM until midnight. Activities include arts & crafts, video games, board games, and Disney movies.
BONUS TIP: If you book a spa service of at least 75 minutes at Mandara Spa or dine at either Shula’s Steak House, Todd English’s bluezoo, or Il Munio New York, you will receive a 2 hour credit at Camp Dolphin for one child!
Kid’s Nite Out
Kid’s Nite Out offers one to one babysitting services without your children leaving the comfort of your resort room. The minimum age is 6 months, and includes children up to 12 years of age. The hourly rate begins at $18 for one child, and an additional $3 per hour for each additional child. There is also a $2 surcharge per hour after midnight. Kid’s Nite Out is also available for in park services, if an extra hand is needed.
Personally, I have considered Kid’s Nite Out, but since they are not wonder or operated by Disney, we have had some hesitation. If you have used Kid’s Nite Out, I would love to hear your feedback!
